Solarprofit Structural Certification
Client: Solarprofit
Project: Structural certification of PV support system SUD 10° and East–West 10° system
Location: Llinars del Vallès
Service: Simulation and testing
Project objective
Solarprofit, a leading company in photovoltaic self-consumption, needed to ensure the structural safety of industrial roofs prior to installing solar panels. The objective was to verify the load-bearing capacity and comply with current regulations in order to obtain the building permit within the planned deadlines.
Applied methodology
Calculation of permanent and variable loads on the roof.
Wind load analysis according to CTE and Eurocode.
Modeling with finite element software to simulate deformations and stresses.
Verification of material strength and structural connections.
Study of aluminum end brackets for PV. Application of progressively increasing monotonic displacement up to the yield behavior of the component.
Study of folded sheet aluminum support plates for photovoltaic panel mounting.
Study of sheet metal wind deflector for self-supporting PV mounting system. Application of pressure loads up to the yield behavior of the component. Local buckling is observed in the folds.

Study of folded sheet aluminum support plates for photovoltaic panel mounting. Application of progressively increasing monotonic displacement up to the yield behavior of the component.
Study of sectional properties and internal distribution of equivalent stresses for an extruded aluminum section.
